He shot His arrows deep into my heart. The thought of my suffering and hopelessness is bitter beyond words. I will never forget this awful time, as I grieve over my loss. YET I DARE to Hope when I remember this: The UNFAILING Love of the Lord NEVER ENDS! By His mercies we have been kept from complete destruction.

Trip of a Lifetime

Well I'm back! Its been a crazy couple of weeks. First, we had VBS then David and I went to the Bahamas.
Let me start with VBS. We had a blast! We had our nephew, 2 of our nieces, Kevin, Allie Faith, and 2 of our neighbors. Just as they were starting to get into the best parts of VBS, Kevin and Allie Faith came down with a stomach bug. I was so sad and almost felt defeated by the devil. As the day of Tates one year in heaven was coming up, we really needed this time as a family! It kept our minds busy and focused on serving!  We were around our church family and we were having such a great time! We felt like we were on a "spiritual high", then it felt like the Devil stuck his head in. Sometimes its easy to feel defeated by the devil but, we were not going to give in. Although we missed the last two days, it was an amazing outreach to our community. We felt so privileged to be apart of it.

The Bahamas!
We starting planning a trip several months ago. We had no idea at the time where or when the trip would take place. We feel the Lord took over and planned it all out for us. Things just started falling into place about 2 months ago. We wanted to get away to think about Tate and the day he went to heaven. The Lord truly planned out every detail! We are so thankful for that time together, just to spend some time wrapping our heads around what that day meant to us.
We fully believe in Gods Will for Tates life. We feel that the day Tate saw his Saviors face is something to be celebrated. The day he was told "Well Done, thy good and faithful servant". The day all his questions were answered.
Yes, we are devastated that he is not here with us, but let me just say, there is no greater joy than knowing your son is healthy and happy in the Lords arms.
We took the day to go out to a private island and maybe, just maybe catch a glimpse of the same beauty he sees. I know nothing can compare but it was a nice thought. The Lords marvelous wonders that we saw, words cannot describe!
Here are some pictures we took while away.
Thank you for your prayers and encouragement during time of remembrance!

Please excuse the amount of pictures.

Also, half the pictures are from my phone. I think I could have taken just my iphone! The sand was so bright it was hard to find the right settings on my big camera!

Saying goodbye. They still had bedheads and were in their jammies when we left.

My very first plane ride!

ATL airport!

2nd flight!

Waiting to board.

About to land in Nassau, Bahamas.

First look. View from our room!

First thing we did after checking in....went straight to the water!

Chillin in a hammock

Yep, I used BABY SPF 50! I was not going to burn!

We walked around and saw the cutest little shops. I had to take a picture of the yellow doors.

Sunrise the next morning!

Tates name in the sand.

Headed out for the day!

Went to a private island!

Needless to say....it was beautiful!

One side of the island was a "protected" beach. It was in the middle of the island. All kinds of things to do.

Lots of hammocks to lay in.

We spent our time on the north side of the island. The ocean view was breathtaking

David was much braver than I. It took me a LONG little while to get used to being in the ocean!

The water was unbelievably clear and blue!

They served a fantastic lunch! The fruit was amazing!

After lunch we found this little cove. We spent the entire day there. All alone!

There was a place where the rocks shaded us! It was so peaceful!

I thought this book was fitting considering my fear of sharks and the water.

We had a great time together. We needed it!

Waiting for the boat to take us back to Nassau. We sat in a hammock. This was our view.

On another side of the island they had 6 dolphins and 2 sea lions.
You could either view them from the dock (for free) or pay (way too much) to swim with them.
We "viewed" them.

This is a better view of the "protected" family, fun side!
I wished the kids were with us!

The water was SO clear!

A little island that we saw on the 25 minute boat ride.

We saw so many yachts!

After dinner we went for a walk on the beach!

On the 3rd day I didnt take very many pictures. We explored downtown mostly.
We went to the straw market and had lunch.

We took the bus everywhere. It was only 1.25 each way. Downtown was a 15-20 ride. I did not want to walk that!

The food was incredible!

We went back to the hotel to cleaned up before heading out for dinner.

We were told this is a local favorite! I was very good!

On the 4th day we went back to the private island. It was our last full day and it was such a beautiful place, we figured why not!

I started getting comfortable being in the water...sort of...

I didnt go very far!

Dont judge! I LOVE the water, I dont like whats IN the water!

Our last night there, we went to Senor Frogs!

The food was amazing!

Walking around downtown.

We spent a few hours on the beach before checkout.

Waiting for our ride to the airport! I love this man!

This made me laugh! Rollin in style to the airport! haha

1st flight of the day. Because of the weather, it wasnt a fun ride!

Finally home. We landed in Montgomery at 11:30pm. Granna and Granddaddy brought the kids to pick us up. They made signs that said "welcome home." It was so sweet!

Well that was our vacation! We feel so blessed to have some time away. The timing was perfect! Needless to say, it was a trip of a lifetime!

Now its time to get back to our routine! Kevin starts school in 2 weeks!!!!

Thanks for looking!
Also thank you for your prayers during this time!
